A funny story!

Two weeks ago Bella and Analiese were riding bikes in our backyard. Bella came running in and told us that they took off her training wheels but she couldn't ride without them. She assured us that we need not worry because they put them back on. Then she looked at Manuel with her sweet eyes and said "Daddy can you please teach me to ride without those training wheels right now?". He told her that he would during the week because it was time to come in for dinner. Well the poor child waited...and waited...she asked me if she could try again on her own two days later...citing that Daddy worked a lot and she's been waiting. I assured her it would happen. Friday night came and I told Manuel how much she was really wanting to learn and I told him that if he didn't do it VERY soon...she WOULD do it on her own.
That is just her pesonality. She just figures things out with no problem. When she learned how to tie her shoes I showed her once and said "ok, go in your room and try to see if you can do it"...she came out 10 minutes later with both shoes tied! With double knots!!
So anyway, she went to play at our friends house the next day. When we picked her up my friend Alison says something like "aaah, right now I feel really bad to be you!" and I'm thinking "oh no, how much is it gonna cost to replace?". She tells me that Bella saw Brooklyn's bike and asked her if she would teach her how to ride it. Alison tells her that she couldn't possibly because that is something her daddy should do. Bella is already on the bike and says "can you just please hold it one time" as Alison holds it (explaining that she can't teach her) Bella takes off riding!!! All on her own!! Just left her standing there shocked and thinking "OH NO!!". Hearing Alison tell me all of this was so funny! I knew she was thinking I wasn't going to believe that she really didn't teach Bella. But oh, I believe it!! That's my girl!! So she's been riding that thing since and the smile remains. She wouldn't leave Brooklyn's bike alone that day she got on and Brooklyn even told her something like "do you think your parents can buy you your own bike so you don't have to only use mine?". Don't worry Brooklyn she is permanently glued to her's since that day she got home from your house! Bella ran around telling everyone that she could now ride a "one wheeler". Don't worry we taught her the difference! She had me make sure I got the picture of just her wheel to show that there are no training wheels!

Awesome! Go Bella! Sierra wants to learn without training wheels, too, but we've "been busy". We haven't even attempted shoe tying yet. Way to go girl! :)
